Therapeutic Approach
Our work together involves helping you manage emotional distress by building your sense of empowerment, self-esteem, and confidence. This can involve tracing any possible root cause of your pain to your heartache as a child that continues to affect your life today.
- My style is non-prescriptive and person-centered. This means that I do not tell you what to do, rather, I endeavour to shine the light on attiudes, feelings, and behaviours that get in the way of your highest potential and happiness. Through insights gained in our sessions, you can choose new ways of being that can improve your life.
- I view intense emotional reactions to stress as a possible reflection of emotional wounds rooted in childhood experiences, your family of origin including intergenerational family trauma, or previous relationships. We’ll gently uncover how the pain of your past is affecting your life today. Through greater self-awareness and self-compassion, you can begin to make better choices and take personal responsibility for your life.
- WIth an inclusive and non-denominational or religious view, I can also work with you on a holistic, psychospiritual approach that recognizes the interconnection of body, mind, emotions, and spirit in the therapeutic process. With your consent, our sessions can integrate themes of soul learning and growth through painful human experiences, life purpose, and spiritual guidance. Through compassion, gratitude, and forgiveness, you can transform your life with more hope and meaning.
By listening to
your words, allowing expression of your emotions, helping you notice how
your thoughts and feelings are expressed by your body, and exploring
spiritual themes, I endeavour to help you acknowledge the past, accept
yourself in the present, and take positive action for a better future.
You can make positive changes in your life.
